Throwing 148 mph was good…but a 4 billion transfer submarine with two home runs went down in the 5th inning.
He didn’t make it out of the fifth inning.
Lotte Giants’ Han Hyun-hee started the fifth game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against the Samsung Lions at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on Tuesday.
Han is 4-5 with a 4.28 ERA this season. He had an up-and-down April with a 2-2 record and a 7.17 ERA, but rebounded in May with a 2-2 record and a 1.64 ERA.
Han got off to a rocky start in the first inning. He led off the inning with a single and stole second base. Kim Hyun-jun laid down a sacrifice bunt to put runners on first and third. He then faced Jose Pirela. Pirela induced a fielder’s choice. The runner at third was stranded at home. Han Hyun-hee looked like he was going to get another easy out, but he was stopped at first base. Kim Ji-chan came home, and Pirela went to second. It was ruled an error by the first baseman, but Han’s throw to second was not good enough. Oh Jae-il doubled to center field to extend the lead to two. Only after Kim Jae-seong grounded out to third base did the first inning end.
The second inning was no easier. Kim Ho-jae flied out to center field but was hit by a home run by Lee Jae-hyun, followed by a walk to Lee Sung-gyu and back-to-back hits to Kim Ji-chan and Kim Hyun-joon. Fortunately, the second inning ended without a run.
In the third inning, Kang Min-ho, Oh Jae-il, and Kim Jae-sung all struck out to complete the first triple play of the game. In the fourth inning, we had two runners on base, but we got Pirela to fly out to center field. As the inning went on, we settled down.
The fifth inning was the big one. He was able to get the leadoff hitter Kang Min-ho to ground out, but then gave up a home run to Oh Jae-il. He gave up a walk to Kim Jae-sung and a single to Kim Ho-jae, putting runners on first and third with one out.
Eventually, the LOTTE bench decided to make a change. Pitching coach Bae Young-soo came up, and Han Hyun-hee bowed his head. Choi Yi-jun came in as Lotte’s second pitcher.토토사이트
In 4.1 innings, Han gave up five runs (three earned) on nine hits (two home runs) with three walks and three strikeouts. Tied for the most runs allowed in a single game this season. Threw 100 pitches. Threw 51 fastballs, 40 sliders, and nine forkballs. Topped out at 148 mph.
The team is currently trailing 2-5. If the game ends this way, it will be Han’s sixth loss of the season. She has lost four in a row individually.
