Legendary German midfielder Matheus recalled that he gave everything to lead Inter Milan to win the Serie A title in 1989.

“It was an honor to be able to share that moment with the German players,” Matheus said in an interview with PopoTwo. “Off the pitch, the three of us were just treated as ‘Italians’ from different countries.” said.

“We spent time together, whether in the restaurant or at home. We were all the more united to reciprocate our success on the pitch and we really appreciated winning Serie A and the UEFA Cup.”
