‘Rookie of the Year 0’ Carroll is NL Rookie of the Year, ‘team’s leading force’
Corbin Carroll, 23, of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who is on pace to win the National League Rookie of the Year, has been named the league’s hottest player.
Carroll was named National League Pitcher of the Week, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday. It’s the first honor of his career.
In five games over the past week, Carroll batted .500 with three home runs, eight doubles, nine RBIs, 11 runs scored, a .542 slugging percentage and a 1.091 OPS.
Most notably, Carroll had four hits against the Washington Nationals on April 8, and three hits against the Detroit Tigers on April 10 and 12.
Through the last 12 games of the season, Carroll is batting .308 with 13 home runs, 33 doubles, 47 RBI, 68 runs scored, a .389 slugging percentage and a .968 OPS.
Carroll also ranked second in the majors and tied for the National League lead with a 3.2 FWAR. That’s enough to make him more than a Rookie of the Year candidate, but a Most Valuable Player (MVP) candidate.토토사이트
Carroll is an outfielder with very good contact and above-average power. He’s also an 80 on the 20-80 scale for speed. Plus, he plays good outfield defense.
Arizona signed Carroll to an eight-year, $110 million contract early on. This includes service time and the second year of free agency.
