The Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour has a new big star.
Superstar Ryuki Bang Shin-sil, 19, ushered in her era with her third career victory in just her fifth event on the tour.
Bang carded two birdies without a bogey on the final day of the KLPGA Tour’s 11th E1 Charity Open ($900 million in prize money) at Seongmunan Country Club (Par 72-6520) in Wonju, Gangwon Province, on Monday. Her final total of 9-under-par 207 gave her a two-stroke victory over the second-place group and a wire-to-wire win for her first tour victory.
Bang earned 162 million won for her victory, giving her more than 200 million won in career earnings (278.89 million won, tied for sixth) in just five regular tour events. The previous record was set by Choi Hye-jin, Cho A-yeon, Park Min-ji, and others in six tournaments. Bang Shin-sil quickly jumped to third in rookie points and sixth in grand prize points.

Bang had already made waves before the event, proving herself to be a force to be reckoned with.
Standing at 1m73 and with a long drive of over 260 yards, she was in contention for the title after finishing fourth at the KLPGA Championship in April and third at the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship earlier this month. Her experience in the championship group served as a springboard for this win.
She played a safe and calm game throughout the day to keep her pursuers at bay. With a one-stroke lead in the rainy conditions, Bang Shin-shil birdied the 16th (par-5) hole to seal the deal.
His teammate Kim Hee-ji, who was one shot back, bogeyed the same hole to fall three strokes behind. Kim Min-sun, also chasing by one stroke, bogeyed the 17th (par-4) to fall out of contention.
As the first rookie victory of the year, Bang secured her full tour status for the remainder of the year and into the 2025 season. It is the 10th time in his career that he has gone wire-to-wire to win his first title.
“I had a cold, my nose was stuffy, I was coughing, and I was deaf. “I had a cold, my nose was stuffed up, I was coughing, and I was deaf, but I held on with my mental strength,” said Bang, who shared the secret of her calm victory.
“I used to be a long hitter in the national team, but in winter training this year, I spent two and a half months working on my swing speed for an hour and a half three times a day. I gained about 20 yards,” she explained. However, when asked if he was thinking of adding more distance, he said, “No. I’m not. For now, I want to improve my accuracy here,” he said.토토사이트
“My friends and sisters who played for the national team with me are all playing on the regular tour, but I didn’t make the cut, so I really struggled to get up there with them,” he said, adding that his rise to fame is “strange, like being a celebrity”.
“I want to be in the top 10 for the rest of the tournaments, and I want to win the KB Financial tournament, which is a sponsored tournament,” he said.
The super rookie feels more at ease with her first win and seeding. It’s hard to say how much more upheaval he will cause. The era of the ‘rooming house’ has just begun.
