Masango’s Park Hyun-woo hit a solo home run against Busan High ace Won Sang-hyun to clinch the victory for Masango.
Masango won 5-2 in the round of 32 against Busan High School in the 78th Cheongnyonggi High School Baseball on Sunday at Mokdong Baseball Stadium.
Masango’s momentum was frightening after defeating the favorite Deoksugo in the first inning. Masango took the lead in the first inning when leadoff man Yang Jae-min advanced on a walk and then Lee Jung-yoon hit a two-out RBI double in a two-on, two-out opportunity created by Park Hyun-woo’s sacrifice bunt. In the fourth inning, with runners on first and second, Lee Jae-won’s grounder to first base went behind the plate, allowing two runners to cross home plate to make the score 3-0.
Trailing 0-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Busan called on ace Won Sang-hyun to prevent further damage.
