The Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani, 29, is considered the biggest name in the upcoming free agent market.

Ohtani is eligible for free agency after this season. While many expected him to be traded, the Angels did not, and an extension is unlikely, making it almost certain that he will hit the free agent market.

Ohtani, who is having one of his best seasons as a hitter this year, going 30-for-46 (146-for-480) with 44 homers, 92 RBIs and a 1.072 OPS in 130 games, and as a pitcher, going 10-5 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 games (132 innings), was diagnosed with elbow damage in the first game of a doubleheader against Cincinnati on April 24 (ET) after feeling something wrong with his elbow and going off the mound.
